The man in charge of Michigans Public Schools, Mike Flanagan, is urging every superintendent to be proactive and support the measure to raise the states sales tax. The May ballot proposal asks voters to approve the tax to raise money for roads, schools and local governments. If voters give the nod, the sales tax will rise from six to seven percent, generating about $300,000,000 a year just for schools.
