The man was found guilty of first degree murder. Someone had - TopicsExpress

The man was found guilty of first degree murder. Someone had called the cops to a domestic disturbance, and there is no indication that it is a wrong address. When cops are called to an address, they have a reason to at least ASK what is going on. It was wrong for this officer to threaten the dogs, but they were not behind a fence. OK -- you cant shoot cops, they are never in season. Even when they are wrong -- and it is not clear that this cop was wrong in the first place. However, for those who need protection, remember that it is better to have at least a half-dozen dogs -- and preferably not dogs that all follow along in one well-tuned little pack. For instance, in wolf-pack territory, it is necessary to have about a dozen sheep guardian dogs to stand up to the wolves. (Wolves tend to gather in packs up to a dozen, before splitting off into smaller packs -- so expect up to a dozen wolves per attack). It is ideal to have some bold dogs, some dogs that will chase, some that will stand on the territorial border to defend, and some that hang back -- because wolves will sometimes distract the dogs and then some will sneak around back to steal from behind. The dogs that stand back and stay with the family or lambs or whatever, will defend them as the rest of the pack goes charging away. Just so, several dogs, with different temperaments, make a better defense for the home. But this guy was stupid to shoot to cop.
