The manager spoke to the media on Thursday ahead of Saturdays trip to St Mirren The players are relishing the challenge and enjoying it. They are really looking forward to the game Derek McInnes We have obviously had a good month. We want January to be a strong month as well and we have started with two wins. There are quite a number of challenges ahead of us starting with the St Mirren game away on Saturday. It is a ground we have found difficult to get a result in the past. Whilst the game at Pittodrie against St Mirren was one we dominated for long periods we did not win. It was a good performance that night and we will need a similar performance on Saturday if we are to get the three points. The aim is to go there and win. We are playing a team who are fighting for their lives. We have no doubts it will be a tough match for us, as they are most weeks. They have players who can hurt you so we have a job on our hands. We are obviously happy where we are but Saturday is all about winning three points. The same three points that are available every week. If we are to do that then we need the same complete focus and concentration to give ourselves a chance. No one is going to give you points. You have to earn them. Regardless of whether we are playing a team at the top of the table or nearer the bottom, it is about what we bring to the game. The players are relishing the challenge and enjoying it. They are really looking forward to the game. Team news is that Clark Robertson and Willo Flood were due to play for the U20s in the Development League on Tuesday but unfortunately the game was cancelled due to the weather. We did though manage to get a practice match into them. The game on Saturday will probably come too quickly for Clark and also Craig Storie who is coming back from injury but our loan players are back and will be included in the squad. There is no transfer news. One or two players might go out on loan and we will look at maybe bringing one or two in. In the January window things do not happen till nearer the end of the month. We have a squad here who have shown they can win games but we would be silly not to see if we can add to it if we can. During the last January transfer window we brought in Shay and Adam which gave the side a shot in the arm for the second half of the season. So if we bring in players then great, if we cant then we move on. Sheepy
