The manifold wisdom of God shall be made known by the church. (Ephesians3:10) God is a God of variety. We are not carbon copies of His making. Each person has his own individuality, his own identity & his own personality. This word manifold is defined as multifarious, much variegated & having multiplicity. In other words, a wisdom with many shades, hues, tints or facets. The church of the Lord Jesus Christ has been chosen to show how much variety exists in Gods nature. The same word was used to describe Josephs coat of many colors. His eleven brothers probably wore the same fabric. When Josephs father, Jacob, dressed him in a coat of many colors, it put a distance between him & his brothers. It even caused them to be envious of what they interpreted as his favored status. Later the Lord used him to help his brothers make it through a seven-year famine. This manifold wisdom of God applies to you & me. The New King James Version translates the word as many-sided wisdom. When Martin Luther lit the fires of reformation, the Lord was showing another side of His wisdom. John Wesley came along & showed another side of His wisdom. Subsequent visitations & demonstrations of Gods Holy Spirit added luster to the body of Christ. At this present time there are indications by the Holy Spirits activities & current world conditions of yet another demonstration of Gods wisdom & power. You & I can be the recipient of this His glory & presence. It is found in Ephesians 3:10, & it is ours for the asking. (Godspeed Translation) - So that the many-sided wisdom of God may now through the church be made known to the rule & authorities in heaven.
