The master of the waltz, Johann Strauss II, was born October 25, 1825. He went against his fathers wishes (to become a banker) and snuck violin lessons while he was young. Later Strauss Jr. had trouble getting places to perform his compositions because of his fathers anger. After Strauss Srs death Strauss Jr combined his orchestras with his fathers, and went on to become known as the Waltz King of Vienna. He often had multiple venues booked for the same evening. Here is Strauss Jrs most famous piece, as part of a soundtrack to a movie that makes me feel cheated in 2014 (why dont we have this yet?)!
