The meeting between the FG and JOHESU has just ended with a plea from the Federal Government for JOHESU to call off her 41day old strike because FG has shown sincerity to positively address the issues at hand. The meeting which started at exactly 2:16pm had in attendance the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Mr Awuta, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health stood in for the Minister of Health who is said to be in a meeting at the Villa, Mr Iloh, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Labour and Productivity and the representative of the Salary and Wages Commission. After several hours of serious and breath taking deliberation, the Minister of Labour and Productivity assured JOHESU leadership to count on him for positive outcome though the Govt reps didnt come with any circular, they requested for time to get information from higher authority JOHESU on the other hand insisted that this is the 14th meeting with FG, several MoU has been signed yet it is still work in progress. It can summarily be said that nothing tangible has been extracted thus far from the FG, JOHESU opined. The strike therefore continues. Part of JOHESU team aside the officials of the affiliated unions were Alh T. Y. Raheem and Pharm. Olumide Akintayo, National Presidents, AMLSN and PSN respectively. More Details to come up soon.
