The meeting this evening at the Community Hall in Anza with the CHP PIOs (Public Information Officers) was informative, for both the officers and the attending citizens. After introducing themselves, Officers Darren Meyer and Mike Lassig answered questions posed by concerned locals. Subjects such as speed limit enforcement methods, how to report drunk and reckless drivers, and how traffic was controlled for special events were addressed, among other issues. Concerns about careless drivers passing through (literally) Anza and the problem of slow vehicles failing to turn out were discussed. The officers wrote down tips offered by people in regards to the worst areas and times that these drivers creating dangerous situations.They were friendly, extremely knowledgeable and had a marvelous sense of humor. Special thanks are in order to Bud Elmore, who organized this event and Officers Meyer and Lassig for giving us some of their precious time to come and speak in Anza.
