The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot. (Proverbs 10:7) When my grandfather is remembered all you can hear about is the wonderful blessing he was to others. You could only hear of the good he did and how he loved people and gave of himself. Any whoever would try to talk negatively would simply look foolish. He was and still is greatly loved. And why is that? He was and still is a man of God though he went to heaven to be with the LORD when he was 107 years old. Whenever we remember him we are blessed to see how mightly God can use people to his glory. Not so with the wicked. Their name is a fleeting memory. They did nothing good. And their names like their flesh will rot for eternity in hell. What will they say when you are remebered? Did you follow Christ? Was life all about you or did you love your neighbor as yourself? Is their a wonderful aroma or vulgar stench? God knows who are his. God will judge.
