The militarization of the Southern Border in the United State is unacceptable to a major coalition of immigrant rights groups – in particular those stationed along the border. We are taking action with our allies in the Campaign for Comprehensive Immigration Reform on Wednesday. We want to remind Congress and the President - that though we may want immigration reform we are not willing to accept militarization of border communities as part of the deal. SB 744 is OVERKILL and is nothing more than pork for the military-industrial complex with a $46 billion price tag for us and harassment, detention and ALL TOO OFTEN - deportation and DEATH for our border communities. Meet at the Capitol at 4:00 on Wednesday - between the South Gate and the South Entrance to the Capitol.
