The military knows how to honor their own. My son Clayton - TopicsExpress

The military knows how to honor their own. My son Clayton conducted a graveside at Quantico this afternoon. I went along for the ride. We sat in a warm car at the staging area for 15 min. Then began the slow drive to the pavilion. Standing there perfectly still and at attention were two uniformed service people. I was freezing. The bugler played taps flawlessly. The flag was folded slowly and with great dignity. If they were cold they didnt show it. The young servicewoman stood at attention at her post even after Clayton was done. When her time was up, she walked calmly to her car with the rigidity of one still on duty. Stopped at the car door and executed a perfect right turn before opening the door and getting in. I marveled at her composure. I, on the other hand was shivering so hard I could barely get my key in the lock. Clayton of course spoke without flaw. Great to be with him.
