The minister of defense Crisps Kiyonga has informed parliament committee of defense and internal Affairs chaired by Mubende district woman MP Benny Namugwanya that the ministry of defense wants to bring a motion on the floor of parliament seeking parliament’s approval to sign a pack allowing Uganda to be part of the East African standby force. Minster Kiyonga said that the purpose of the East African standby force is to help all East African member state to counter fight the increasing threatening terrorism attacks in the region. He confirmed to the committee that, three heads of states from Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya have already appended signatures to the memorandum of the force.
