The misconduct revealed at the VA is simply inexcusable. The brave men and women that put their lives on the line defending our great nation deserve the very best care upon their return home. We must never let anything stand in the way of the promise we made to these soldiers that sacrificed so much defending our freedoms. General Shinseki served his country with honor for nearly 50 years, and for that we thank him. Let this change in leadership serve as only the beginning of much needed reform at the VA in order to do right by our veterans and get them the care they have earned and deserve.
