The mistake here is in the headline. Fox should never be seen as a news channel. It is not and was never intended to be. Roger Ailes created Fox using the concepts he developed as an aid to President Nixon. He sent out biased news stories from the Nixon White house completely packaged and ready for use in the media. These news stories supported the Nixon/Republican policy line and were designed to control the daily media flow to bias public opinion in Nixons favor. Eager local news organizations found them easy to use and accepted them readily; running them as if they had produced them themselves. After leaving the White House it was only a short step to creating a cable channel to continue this concept on a broad national basis. Fox is a propaganda outlet designed to support conservative ideas and they do it well, but dont confuse Fox with actual news.
