The momentum is gathering nicely at The Crystal Cafe Sessions on Saturday afternoons in Exeter, and we have an Americana-tinged feel to the sessions today on Saturday 18th October. First up at the Crystal Cafe Sessions today at 12 noon, we have the debut performance of Buffalo Sovereign, who are a new electric/acoustic guitar duo comprising singer-songwriter James Evans and guitarist Jon Speechley. Strongly influenced by contemporary Americana, Buffalo Sovereign perform covers and new material with songs spanning from 1960s American folk to modern Alt Country. Following Buffalo Sovereign is a remarkable performer whose ability to perform with wonderful delicacy flies in the face of a physical presence which would not go unnoticed wherever he plays. Ben Jordan is an American independent musician from Denver, Colorado. He is currently residing and touring throughout the UK and Europe. This year Ben will release his highly anticipated follow up to 2010s Ghosts Breathing Through Our Strings, entitled, Dream Invisible. This album features the majority of Sam Green & the Midnight Heist, Jaz Delorean, from Tankus the Henge and other UK musicians. Bens songs range from intimate ballad to high energy foot stomper and everywhere in between. His solo shows are part comedy, part travelogue and always a hairs breadth from careening off the road. His communication and rapport with the audience is a rare and often hilarious thing to see. Never one to shy away from a road story or a joke before breaking your heart or making you want to get up and dance, Ben is both new old at once, and definitely a live experience worth having more than once. Come and join us at what is becoming a great place to be in Exeter at The Crystal Café and Holistic Emporium at 117 Fore Street, Exeter. Amazing vibe, great vegan and vegetarian food, awesome coffee made with skill you would not believe, fantastic acoustic music every Saturday lunchtime and fabulous staff. What’s not to like?
