The money we raise goes to cancer families in the form of direct cash assistance, gas cards, grocery cards, parking passes, laptops, etc. But we also do events. This weekend I have the honor of taking 30+ cancer families up to YMCA Camp Coniston for Winning spirit. This amazing place provides the opportunity to let cancer families be families. My families first experience was in 2001 when my son was recovering from 2 bone marrow transplants, 5 rounds of kemo, and 2 rounds of Total Body Radiation. It was amazing how he flourished that weekend with the amazing people like Jamie Gallagher who encouraged him to climb a 20 foot rock wall. Its been a part of our life ever since.
