The monks of Einsiedeln Abbey in Switzerland have a historic connection to Reichenau Abbey, the home of todays saint, Blessed Herman of Reichenau. St. Meinrad, who was a hermit and a martyr at the place where Einsiedeln was eventually built, had been a monk at Reichenau. The monks of Einsiedeln to this day pray the Salve Regina, the text of which was written by Blessed Herman, in a beautiful setting that you can hear below. This has been special to me for a long time because Einsiedeln is the motherhouse of Saint Meinrad Archabbey in southern Indiana.
