The more I connect with other like minded souls around the globe, the more I realize the vast numbers we are in. There are so many who know now of natural horse methods. There are so many who keep pushing for a better way to keep our horses, happy and healthy. Its pushed me to see how ignorant our industry can be. And how much we do things for our own convenience, not their better health. Keeping a horse in a stall for long periods of time is one of the biggest issues I have with how we keep horses in North America. We are taught from a very young age that this is how horses are kept; and so it is instilled in us. We learn that a low hanging head in a stall is a comfortable horse; not a depressed one. We learn that pawing and weaving are vices that every horse goes through in a stall; not mental break downs and stress stereotypies... And from these thoughts, its drawn this poem out of me. As I can only hope more and more will push past what they have been taught by human ways, and look deeper into their own horses lives, their hearts and their souls to finally grasp what it is that they need.
