The more articles I read about bullying, the more irritated I become. This vexation is not only due to the bullies themselves, but also to the social justice warriors that are continuing to claim that we need to educate children about bullying. You can talk all you like to children about why they shouldnt harass and torment their peers, but does it really do any good? I only speak from experience, but being bullied made me stronger. It was awful while I was dealing with it (having to call someone to come and get you so you can go home to wash a lung butter out of your hair is no treat), and I contemplated a way out many times. However, I made it through. I didnt understand at the time why, but I get it now. Kids are little monsters to begin with, and when you couple that with hormones of puberty.... My point is: try as much as you want, but bullying will never truly disappear. Just please, for the love of all that is holy, stop teaching the victims to be victims. Teach them that it gets better, teach them that they will be stronger for trudging through this garbage. Stop teaching them that theyre weaklings that need constant protection; they will believe you. Then how are they going to fare when the real world throws them around?
