The most amazing eulogy for my dear, amazing high school friend Suzanne Krull. I dare you not to watch it and be moved. Its sure a way to put everything into perspective, which was really very much a Suzanne thing to do anyway. This is Peter, Suzannes husband. I recently listened to the recording of Andy Bermans amazing eulogy for Suzanne, and with his permission, have posted it below with attached video. It is a tribute to the depth of Andys friendship with Suzanne and his talents as a story-teller that he was able to capture her essence in a few short minutes. In attempt to honor Suzannes memory and carry on her legacy of caring for others, Beth Wishnie, Tig Notaro, Andy Wood, Bryan Erwin, Antoinette Peragine and I (among others) are producing the first annual Krullapalooza, a stand-up comedy show which will benefit a different non-profit that Suzanne would have wanted to support each year. I have done some volunteer work with Transgender Youth through a non-profit called Survivors Truths, which also serves survivors of violence in post-civil war Liberia, and gives voice to incarcerated populations here at home. The proceeds of our first benefit show will go to Survivors Truths and Transgender Youth Advocacy. The show will be held at the Wiltern Theater on Tuesday, April 1 at 8pm. It features an absolutely stellar line-up: TIG NOTARO - Grammy Nominated stand-up comedian. Credits include The Sarah Silverman Program, Comedy Central Presents, multiple appearances on Conan and This American Life. After a now famous, tour de force performance Comedian Louis C.K. tweeted, In 27 years doing this, Ive seen a handful of truly great, masterful standup sets. One was Tig Notaro last night at Largo. ZACH GALIFIANAKIS - The Hangover trilogy, as well as his multiple turns hosting Saturday Night Live and his iconic Funny or Die talk show, Between Two Ferns, in which he attained the status of national hero by spanking Justin Beiber with a belt. PATTON OSWALT - One of the most respected comedians performing today, two Grammy Award nominated comedy albums, an HBO special and two Comedy Central specials. Also known for Ratatouille and for The King of Queens.When asked about his survival skills, Oswalts response was, The only skill I have is Blade Runner trivia. REGGIE WATTS - Andy Kaufman Comedy Award winning French American comedian and musician. Regular on the IFC show, Comedy Bang! Bang!, two Comedy Central specials and multiple Conan appearances. He is the only comedian in the line-up to have been featured in a TED talk. ... ALSO, transgender comedian, Ian Harvie, and a couple of very special guests.
