The most ominous line in this appallingly ominous news is that there have been numerous reports of large methan bubbles rising to the surface of the Arctic Ocean. This should be sending terrified cold shudders down the backs of every politician in the world - but since none of the bastards actually appear to understand whats so horrifying about it, and cant be bothered to take it seriously, the most theyll probably do is attempt to play down its implications as the frequency and se erity of these events increases. Bit like the current outbreak of Ebola virus in Africa, I suppose: Oh well, its not in my backyard, so theres nothing to worry about. Permian-Triassic extinction event, anyone?
