The most popular ghost story in Miragoane was based on a little truth. Fact was a man named Gostal Arselin cut his own throat with a sharp knife and was found dead in his bedroom. This happened in the middle of the day. END OF TRUE PART. But the mystical translation had Satan dressed as a white bearded old man asking for him at the front door; the man was escorted to Gostals room and the two men talked for a few minutes. No one ever saw the visitor leave; and Gostal was found nearly beheaded on the floor. ( good-old-unpaid-pact-with-the-devil-stuff ) After Gostals funeral, legend goes there were many sightings of him at night all over town for years. each time Gostal swore people to secrecy by frowning and holding his index finger to his lips and walking away backward and disappeared into thin air, only to reappear to someone else another night. Whoever made that up was the Stephen King of Miragoane.
