The most prominent voices on the left -- Rachel Maddow, et. al -- - TopicsExpress

The most prominent voices on the left -- Rachel Maddow, et. al -- acknowledge the context and the reasoning behind intellectual conservative positions, and then point out how those positions are logically and factually incomplete. They often do it with some amount of frustration and derision, by which people on the right understandably feel offended. But, Rachel Maddow, et. al, are not calling anyone on the right a Nazi and in the same breath a subhuman mongrel (incidentally, how the Nazis referred to the Jews). The mainstream left has only a handful of people in the public eye that extend to any extreme, and they are not getting promoted to the front of the room. If they overstep the bounds of civility and accuracy, they are promptly disavowed and usually end up either publicly apologizing or getting fired. The mainstream right, on the other hand, today celebrated the most corrosive, entirely unapologetic, most ideologically and logically one-sided, most factually incomplete, most politically divisive, entirely partisan elements of the conservative culture. Leaving aside ANY consideration of what the respective positions might be on the left and on the right, if you were presented with a debate between a team using the TACTICS of the left and another team using the tactics of the right, which one would you be more likely to respect and which one would be more likely to persuade you? If your answer is the right-wing team, youre already lost.
