The most recent discussion draft of the Rehabilitation Act had many areas of great concern. As we had suspected the language included the moving of RSA to the Dept. of Labor along with weakening the power of the RSA Commissioner. There was also language possibly weakening the Comprehensive System of Personnel Development. Rehabilitation professionals know that persons with disabilities do not benefit from a one size fits all approach to workforce and require qualified professionals to assist them in overcoming the many barriers to employment they face on a daily basis. The time to act is now! If your senator is listed below, please email, call them or visit their office to express our opposition to this bill that could do irreparable damage to the public VR program and services to persons with disabilities.
