The most shocking asepct of the Allen Wes fake-quotes scandal is that Mark Levin, who blurbed the book, didnt recognize that the book was full of bogus Founding Fathers quotations. The reason I find this surprising is that two years ago, Levin devoted a half-hour of his program to criticizing Tom Woods and me for saying that Ron Pauls foreign policy was that of Washington and Jefferson. Perhaps the reason Levin was so angry was that Tom and I based our argument on what historians call actual evidence, including real quotations. It seems Levin isnt familiar with such stuff. Levins slappy Jeffrey Lord echoed Levin on Levins show and in The American Spectator online--without letting us say a word, natch. West refers to Levin in his book as a constitutional scholar, and Levin has described one of his own books on his radio program as a classic.
