The most subtle form of the Law is the idea of a believers active - TopicsExpress

The most subtle form of the Law is the idea of a believers active role in a process of sanctification. This takes the truth of the Word that in Christ you have been sanctified (1 Corinthians 6:11 & Hebrews 10:10,14) and distorts it making it seem that you have work to do in order to be complete in Christ. Lets set this straight, we are not qualified or able to complete something that Christ started (and finished)! How incredibly arrogant of a concept is it to think we can finish up something in our efforts. Christ did it all and it really is finished. You were in the old nature but are now in the new nature. You have been sanctified (set apart unto God) for the work of the Kingdom. Its past tense. Relax. Stop straining to get more sanctified. You already are in Christ. Its Good News, not a good starting point.
