The mountain that is thrown into the sea. Revelation 8:8 The second angel blew his trumpet, and something like a great mountain, burning with fire, was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. This morning I woke up with a voice speaking to me to tell me this is the mountain that the Lord had wanted to be thrown in the sea. Matthew 21:20-21 When the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, “How did the fig tree wither at once?” And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen. The mountain here is a reference to the Old Covenant. It also speaks about Jerusalem who was do tangly referred to as the mountain of The Lord. John 4:19-21 The woman said to him, “Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship.” Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. It clear that Jesus was saying to the woman that Jerusalem was no longer going to be the mountain of The Lord. This is because Jerusalem is the embodiment of Sinai. Hebrews 12:18-22 For you have not come to what may be touched, a blazing fire and darkness and gloom and a tempest and the sound of a trumpet and a voice whose words made the hearers beg that no further messages be spoken to them. For they could not endure the order that was given, “If even a beast touches the mountain, it shall be stoned.” Indeed, so terrifying was the sight that Moses said, “I tremble with fear.” But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, Hebrews 12:25-27 See that you do not refuse him who is speaking. For if they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape if we reject him who warns from heaven. At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” This phrase, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of things that are shaken—that is, things that have been made—in order that the things that cannot be shaken may remain. The city that was to be destroyed and shaken here was the old Jerusalem, the city that cannot be shaken is the new Jerusalem. The new city of Jerusalem is Mount Zion. Hence the mountain that is thrown into the fire is the old Jerusalem. That happened in 70AD. Not somewhere in the new future. Be at rest.
