The movie 17 Miracles is on Netflix. It is about the Mormon pioneers in the Martin & Willie handcart companies. The handcart companies was a way that even the most poor could cross the plains. The Martin and Willie companies got a late start and were trapped in the snows of Wyoming. It is a great film for anyone who is interested in the history of the west, Mormon or not. My family had crossed the plains to Utah much earlier, and having lived their whole lives on the frontier fared much better than these poor souls from the British Isles and Scandinavia. While they suffered great hardship, they experienced great miracles.
