The movie WILD is coming to Ashland Friday Dec. 20. Parts of the movie was filmed on the Ashland Historic Plaza: The Medford Mail Tribune featured author Cheryl Strayed who was in Ashland for a sneak preview screening of the movie “Wild” with Reese Witherspoon. It will be released in Ashland on Friday. The article mentioned Ann Seltzer helping the production company in the process of scouting the Plaza etc. When Reese Witherspoon’s production company came back to Ashland to setup for shooting they were surprised to see a plaza without mature trees, hot gray pavers. no colors or shade. The film crew had to create their own! Ann forgot to tell them the Plaza was redesigned from the time they were first here. As you see in the photos they are placing artificial leaves in the replacement trees and adding color. They did a great job of recreating the Plaza we all loved.
