The movie buff in me has been keeping an eye on Foxcatcher. All the signs point to Steve Carell taking home an Oscar. I say this because comics never get Oscars for comedic roles, but they will for dramatic roles. Take Robin Williams; he wasnt regarded as a serious actor until Good Will Hunting. This is a really sad tradition, especially when you consider Jim Carreys part in How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Not only was his acting superb, Carrey was a bit claustrophobic in the outfit. Here is something from IMDB: The prosthetic make-up Jim Carrey wore took 3 hours to apply. Carrey felt so horribly confined and uncomfortable in the latex skin he needed counseling from a Navy SEAL who taught him torture-resistance techniques. Imagine acting under these circumstances. So....expect Carell to be in the best actor finals.
