The movie company behind “Southpaw” has set another casting call for extras for scenes to be shot next month at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex. Hope Films is seeking 1,500 to 2,000 paid extras for the film, about a boxer who fights his way to the top, only to find his life falling apart around him. The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Rachel McAdams, and Forest Whitaker is rumored to be in the cast as well, according to Internet Movie Database. Open calls have been scheduled at the Indiana Mall (Sears entrance) for the following dates and times: • Tuesday, from 4 to 7 p.m. • Wednesday, from 4 to 7 p.m. • Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. An initial casting call May 24 drew a good response, said Joni Tackette, extras casting director, but more people are needed. Filming will take place at the Kovalchick complex from mid- to late June and in Pittsburgh in early July to early August. A separate casting call will be held for the filming in Pittsburgh this Saturday at the Monroeville Convention Center.
