The muzzle was giving me an incredibly difficult time but I think I have it licked. I created a blender brush that also acts as a fine hair brush. It doesnt smudge (I typically dislike and do not use blender brushes except to define specific masses, and not really to blend much at all, preferring to mix colors on the canvas and use the opacity tool to determine the blend of colors I am laying down). Instead it covers real estate in a uniform way that is not immediately obvious, making the fine painting of a color more easily blended into the color being painted on. I rather like it. I was having an incredibly difficult time with the muzzle because the muzzle doesnt have as well defined hair masses as the body does. Body fur is long and sweeping and, relatively speaking, easy to render. The muzzle was giving me a hard time because even though it is bone covered in a fine fur, still the hair is very short, and from a distance looks more solid and with flecks and speckles of color that, for the life of me, defied my best efforts to render. Every effort I made to color it in a more solid manner made the muzzle look fake and colored and just plain ugly. It just wasnt working. So after several efforts at creating a brush, I created a brush that makes a rather unique sort of stroke. It generally colors, but in a very subtle way that doesnt cover a lot of pixels, compared to a brush like an airbrush. And because the lines of the brush are so fine, you get the impression that you are also rendering fine fur as well. I love it. You paint hair and blend and create texture all at the same time. I call it my Hair Blending Texture Brush. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. Dennis PS. Anyone wanting this brush is welcome to it. Use it with my Fine Hair brush for great effects.
