“The nation has to finally stand up to terrorism and speak up against religious extremism to save Pakistan, which is being isolated internationally, and there is no time left” said Leader of the Opposition and Senator Aitzaz Ahsan at a seminar organized by Pakistan Peoples Party Human Rights Cell at a local hotel in Islamabad. Pakistan is being ostracized – for polio, for terrorism and extremism, there is no cricket, no investment, no tourists, and after the Airlines attack, further restrictions may follow, he cautioned. He also criticized the government for its lack of clear strategy or action on terrorism. Zahid Hussain, journalist and columnist, expressed deep concern on the state which he said had lost its resolve to battle with terrorism and extremism.
