The national Click It or Ticket campaign has now concluded. During the campaign, officers of the Crestview Police Department issued a total of 153 seat belt tickets! The top officers by productivity during the campaign were: Aux. Lieutenant John Denny - 74 Citations Officer Jay Seals - 26 Citations Corporal Pierre Batiste - 15 Citations During the period of this campaign, Crestview experienced an approximate 35% reduction in the number of traffic crashes as compared to the same time period during prior months. Additionally, only 3 of the 22 traffic crashes occurring during this campaign period involved injuries, none classified as serious. This only goes to show that high visibility traffic enforcement IS effective. Thank you to everyone who participated in the campaign for your extra dedication to seat belt enforcement! Brian C.
