The new Age Friendly City grant of up to £300 is for groups who work with people over the age of 50, are based within the city and reduce isolation. This could be to buy equipment which is greatly needed to develop the project, or maybe for a speaker or group activity. The funding must be used on projects which are for older people to tackle issues of loneliness, social isolation, social participation or around health. The next closing date is the 6th May 2014. There is a partnership across the city working towards Age friendly City status to ensure that Stoke-on-Trent supports, embraces and celebrates older age. Saltbox is administering a grant of £15,000 to smaller voluntary and community groups within Stoke-on-Trent, on behalf of Public Health within the Local Authority. Saltbox will be support a panel including local older people who will run two funding cycles a year. If you would like to have an informal chat about your group and a possible project please give Kirsty, at Saltbox a call on 207200. e: [email protected]
