The new AudioQuest Dragonfly ver1.2 (I think thats the number) is, IMO, far more dynamically exciting with most of the cans Ive tried it with than the original - and I dug the original. The new one seems to have more ooomph in the bottom-end, sharper transient attack across the frequency spectrum, quicker transients as well - and though Im not sure if the amp section in the new one has more power in-reserve, it seems to get louder, and cleaner than the OG version too. That maybe due to an overall lower noise-floor. Ill be tackling a full review of the new version soon. The DF was/is, IMO, aside of the Audioengine D3, the smallest and easiest to handle of all the USB-stick-style USB DACS/headphone amps. The D3 has tremendous power - but Im not sure it offers the detail of the Dragonfly. Ill also be checking in with Mr. Stephen Mejias at Audioquest to gather some intel for the review! Im also gonna see if I can score some of their DATA/Ethernet cables! I hear you can actually tell the difference! That would be interesting. More listening to be done!!!!!
