The new Captain America movie sounds like it is influenced by the cross-title Civil War story from years ago. In this, the U.S. government decided it was time to clamp down on vigilantism and take control of the super-hero community, drafting laws to force all super-powered being to both register as such and serve the state ... or else. I was once asked what my home-made character, Powersurge, would have thought of this. His story is of course still way behind where Marvel currently is, and way behind where it was at the time of Civil War, but Powersurge is a team-player, who doesnt believe in elitism or fighting for things he holds in contempt. The greatest good for the great number. But ... forced into the same position they forced Captain America into in the story, ie. you are going to sign up, which you clearly have no problem with, and then you are gonna go to war against your buddies who dont? Well, here is Powersurges response, I am a walking, flying, and THINKING tactical nuclear missle, sir. Choose your next words carefully. Mind you, as a team-player, S.H.I.E.L.D. or Department H or whomever, is GOING TO have all of PSs bio-genetic specs in detail. So right after he said that, they would take him down and imprison him ... or worse. Whats a mutant to do, right? lol
