The news about the Ohio man who got arrested for trying to plot an attack on the Capitol is very telling. According to CNN and the mans father, the suspect just showed some interest in Islam recently (he is not from a Muslim descent). This is very interesting. Even if one assumes, for the sake of argument, that the doctrine of Islam is inherently violent, encourages terrorism, and etc.. of what is going around these days, it is really inconceivable that someone, who is normally peaceful and rational and cant hurt a fly according to his father, then he gets introduced to Islam, it is inconceivable that he can so quickly subscribe to the entire doctrine and actually executes on it. This also applies to many recently-converted Europeans and Westerners who have joined ISIS or sympathize with it. I mean you hear about people who have been Muslim for a few months, and bam, they already joined ISIS!! I can perhaps comprehend how some people born and raised in an Islamic context may be lured into an ISIS-style doctrine, but for people born and raised in a different context, it is impossible to rationally and truly change their childhood views and beliefs so quickly. They need time and knowledge of the doctrine that can only be acquired over many years of studying. Therefore, I really think that the whole ISIS doctrine is not just attractive to fringes of the Muslim population due to its advertised religious goals, it seems that it is an attractive doctrine to many who are simply mad and angry with their government or the entire world order, or even their own lives for one reason or another, and regardless of any apparent religious motives. In other words, to these people, joining ISIS is just a venue for channeling their preexisting dissatisfaction and anger with the world rather than a result of them becoming Muslims. It is similar to how someone starts to subscribe to leftist ideology because they are mad at their boss or the company they work for rather than an actual rational conviction of the doctrine of the left. Bottom line, ISIS has become a black hole for angry people, whether they are Muslims or not.
