Her title “I wanted to make a difference” is in reference to the fact that Mrs Davies was officially reprimanded for telling a convicted cannabis dealer how cannabis had devastated her own family and led to the death of her brother. Magistrates are drawn from all walks of life precisely because they bring a wealth of life experience into the judicial system. Both Mrs Davies experience of dealing with clients damaged by cannabis through her psychotherapy and mental health counselling, together with the harm caused to her own brother brought the dangers of cannabis into sharp focus. It should also not be forgotten that cannabis is indeed illegal."
