The next time somebody tells you that Republicans refuse to compromise, remind them of this day, when Republicans offered several compromises and were utterly rejected by both the Senate and the President. Hearing President Obama saying that the ACA could not be delayed was laughable given the number of waivers his administration has issued, and the fact that he has unilaterally delayed several provisions of the ACA by Presidential decree. Obviously, most media outlets will report that the Republicans want the government shutdown, and that it is all their fault. The fact that neither of these accusations have any basis in reality is irrelevant; the narrative is more important than the facts.
