The number 1 song from my List of 50 Favorite Holiday Classics is probably no surprise to the 108 of you that were kind enough to like my page over the past year. Most of you have known me for years, and if I have made nothing more clear when it comes to Christmas Music, the greatest Christmas Song, and #1 forever on my list is Same Old Lang Syne from Dan Fogelberg. Years after Fogelbergs passing, the woman who the song was written about came forward to validate the songs true meaning and while a few things changed, her eyes were really brown and her former husband wasnt an architect but actually a PE instructor, the rest of it was dead on. Theyd seen each other on Christmas Eve at a quickie mart and bought a 6 pack next door and drank it in her car while talking for hours and catching up. In fact, Fogelberg confided in his memoirs, the heavy snow that had been falling did in fact turn to rain as she drove out of sight.
