The older I get, the less I like to assert my “opinions,” cause they’re just that…my own thoughts. At the end of the day, at the end of our lives, given the fact that humans believe in so many different religions, gods, belief systems...whos to say or know exactly what is right or wrong. That said, my thoughts on the “in the moment” subject of snipers, run pretty deep for many reasons. It’s no secret that I’ve been involved in some facet of the entertainment industry for nearly my whole life…an industry that’s considered liberal in most regards, and of course I’ll certainly admit to having lots and lots of liberal views on life in general. I’ve always been a “you have your view, I’ll have mine” kinda gal. For example, I know personally that if handed a weapon and asked to shoot an animal during hunting season, I couldn’t do it. Do I think you’re an ass if you hunt? Nope. I just can’t…unless, perhaps I was stranded in the wilderness, or on an island and needed food to survive…odds are that answer’s gonna be real different then. I’ve not had that experience and I hope I never do… And truthfully I don’t live a vegan lifestyle (yet), so really I’m just the douche asking someone else to hold the gun and tag the meat I eat on a monthly basis. Yep - I fully admit to my own 1st world hypocrisy problems. In a similar vein…I don’t know if under any circumstances (even self defense), that I’d be able to shoot someone. Again…haven’t had that experience and hope to hell I never have to make that choice. But I can say with confidence that if I was being held at gunpoint by some crazy person, and a very skilled and disciplined shooter (aka sniper) decided to save my life by taking said crazy person out…safe bet (that after poo’ing my pants) I’m gonna be thankful. At no point in time, do I foresee my thought being, “That was true cowardice right there buddy…ya shoulda let me bite it.” So Mr Moore, while I actually like hearing people’s varying opinions on things and I have certainly appreciated from an entertainment perspective how you present your opinions on film (regardless of whether I agree or not)…you’re most recent comments regarding trained military…truly piss poor. Im not certain, but I would imagine those are the kinda of comments that make guys with lifesaving skill sets, want to resent, hate and/or think twice about saving us fun-loving, peace sign throwing, rainbow riding entertainers. Guess ya better hope a big mac gets ya before a hostage crisis situation Mr Moore, cause I’m thinkin ya might be SOL if the latter rears its ugly lil head.
