The older I get the more I see the philosophical wisdom of the so-called robber barons. Henry Ford, J.P. Morgan, and Andrew Carnegie are my favorites. Rockefeller was ruthless but his ruthlessness sometimes clouded his reason. These men boldly stated I am me. I have a right to exist, and a right to the products of my mental and physical labors. And because only the strong survive, I will be single minded in my creative vision: pouring blood, sweat, and tears into it, and no one will bring it down. Thats a bold statement of individualism and something I and everyone else in business needs to reassert to stop the bottom feeding parasitical forces who seek to profit off our vision and sweat through robbery, intimidation, and fear. But moreover this gives me a direction personally, a place to push my energies. I am building my empire, may God grant me the wisdom to do it right.
