The one and only characteristic of the Holy Spirit in me is a strong family likeness to Jesus Christ, and freedom from everything that is unlike Him. So I must ask myself: Am I becoming more and more in love with God as a holy God, or with the conception of an amiable Being who says, “Oh well, sin doesn’t matter much”?
