The one hundred and thirty-sixth word in Scripture, “hu” it, - TopicsExpress

The one hundred and thirty-sixth word in Scripture, “hu” it, him, she, etc. Our word today from Genesis 2:11 is a pronoun that is used to emphasize a subject, to give precision and to indicate identity. Jesus used the demonstrative pronoun of Himself for emphasis when the soldiers came to find Him in the Garden of Gethsemane to take him away for the crucifixion. “Then Jesus, knowing everything that was about to happen to Him, went out and said to them, ‘Who is it you’re looking for?’ ‘Jesus the Nazarene,’ they answered. ‘I am He,’ Jesus told them. Judas, who betrayed Him, was also standing with them. When He told them, ‘I am He,’ they stepped back and fell to the ground.” (John 18:4-6)
