The ongoing Wal-Mart saga: L goes to return/pickup at Redbox. The woman behind her asks her if she saw American Hustle and whether she liked it. L says yes, she and D liked it very much: the music, the clothes, Jeremy Renner. The woman then announces, Well, ***I*** HATED it. As a matter of fact, on a scale of 1 to 10, Id give it a zero. L replies that her mother hated the movie, too, and that one either loves or hates the 1970s. (As anyone whos been in the Ladybug House knows, L and D are into late mid-century modern BIG-TIME.) L then asks the woman whether she liked The Butler, because thats what she and D were watching to commemorate the 50th anniv. of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The woman states that she thought it was a 3. After watching it, L and D would give it a 13. L suspects the woman was probably just a Romney voter who hated the pro-Obama ending. (Cant swing a bat without hitting five or six of those at a time at WallyWorld... ;-) )
