The ongoing campaign against the GSA President Izabela Vlahu is a politically motivated smear campaign. While some in the campaign are there for purely sectarian reason sticking up for their team, those who are leading it are the same people who were supporting TransformUS and cheer-leading for the administration. Most of the allegations against her are without concrete evidence and others are defensible once you get Izabelas perspective which I hope she will publicize soon. There are arguably some issues that need to be dealt with internally, but its nothing to be impeached for. I believe all of the current executives are elected on the popular mandate; to work on issues that affect graduate students on the day-to-day basis such as tuition and putting the students first before the administration. They are only two months into the school year and they have hardly been able to do any work because of their oppositions bullying tactic to slow down the meetings and criticize everything Izabela says or does. These opportunists are bombarding her with bogus allegations to take over the entire organization which I would hate to see succeed. I dont want the GSA to be another comprador institution like the USSU that exists to make the administrations job easier. My support is by no means unconditional, but the current executives are elected to do something new and I would rather let them do their job first before criticizing them.
