The ongoing saga surrounding Itumeleng Khune looks set to continue, with the player’s advisor from the UK stating that Kaizer Chiefs are yet to offer him terms on a new deal. Chiefs’ football manager, Bobby Motaung, told the media this week that he had been in constant talks with the goalkeeper surrounding his future, and that they wouldn’t be held to ransom if his wage demands were too high. Khune has been the subject of plenty of speculation of late due to him entering the last six months of his contract, with moves within the PSL and to Europe both being mentioned. When the Siya crew contacted Khune’s advisor to discuss what had been said about the Amakhosi captain, it was explained that the player hadn’t yet been offered terms by his club. The crew was told, “The truth is that no terms have been offered by the club. There have been no meetings. The rest is not relevant. “We’re glad to hear that the player is under no undue pressure from Chiefs. He’s fit and raring to go for the game against Hoffenheim and he’s really looking forward to it.” Khune is expected to start for Chiefs in their friendly against the German Bundesliga outfit on Friday evening as he seeks to regain his spot as Stuart Baxter’s number one.#mhlongo
