The only article of clothing (besides socks and underwear) I - TopicsExpress

The only article of clothing (besides socks and underwear) I invariably purchase new are khakis. Khakis are surprisingly hard to find at thrift stores, probably because they tend to get run into the ground. So today I bought some khakis at Costco. As a rule, I strive to exact every last iota of value from my consumer goods - so into the rag bin my ratty old pants go. I do have a paper towel rack in my kitchen - a superlative stainless Oxo I bought used for five bucks in SF a decade ago and dragged around since - but I very rarely use paper towels, instead discarding rags soiled with anything I wouldnt want going through my washing machine. I take great pride in my efficiency - which reminds me, I still need to work on assembling a compost stack. I feel embarrased for having worn them so long; I was just cheap and lazy about getting out to the store to get pants. I rely heavily on fashion bleed to make a good impression (the fashion value of an outfit is the mean of the fashion value of its individual parts, weighed towards the shoes and belt).
