The only duty of a yogi is to note whatever object arises without a break. To note the object precisely as it occurs, he or she has also to exercise proper aiming. All vehicles can move and reach their destination without any problems when their engines are working well. Similarly, when a yogi’s “noting engine” is in motion, he or she is sure to reach his or her destination of Nibbana without any delay or hitches. -Sayadawgyi U Panditabhivamsa, Effort, Heedfulness & The Yogi, page 7 - Ships, trains, cars and aeroplanes can set out on their respective journeys and safely reach their desired destinations only if their engines are kept running. Yogis too can travel on the journey to Nibbana and safely reach their destination only if the engine of mindfulness is kept running. -Raindrops In Hot Summer, Sayadawgyi U Panditabhivamsa, page 117-
