The only silly thing I see about the new female Thor as advertised is that Thor is the name of Odins son, and he is still sticking around the Marvel Universe. Odin is taking Mjolnir and the power that comes with it away from him and giving it to someone else, but Thor is still around and hes not changing his name. Whoever wields Mjolnir becomes the new God of Thunder, at least for as long as the story requires Thor to regain his honour.
